Nice to meet you, Cinna. I haven't had friends in what feels like forever. It was kind of hard to make friends where I came from. Can't trust people. I'm hoping this place is different. I like everything else I see so far, so here's hoping.

It was very much the same where I'm from, for similar reasons. I think this place is marvelous so far. It seems very free, doesn't it?

Yeah, plus I don't miss the humidity. Where are you from?

Yeah, it's a nice change. I like the warmth, but I never liked the humidity in Georgia.

Panem? Where's that? I'm originally from California, but more recently, I was in in Georgia for the past couple of years. Both in hte US.

Panem is, well some story tellers say that it's on a place called Earth. But much of our history was wiped out and destroyed in the wars. And what was left of it in the aftermath was taken from the people by the government. As many years have passed, most of what we know is by word of mouth. So, Panem is Panem. I'm from The Capitol of Panem.

California and Georgia, they both sound very exotic. Did you travel a lot?

I'm from Earth... I've never heard of Panem. I'm not saying I don't believe you; I'm terrible at geography.

They're in the United States. I'd say they sound more exotic than they are, especially the latter these days. There's no travel anymore. The world is falling apart. No airlines, no trains, no ships; no fuel for any of them and most of the people who would've controlled them are probably either dead or undead by now. Highways were so congested with abandoned cars all the way down the coast, I had to walk. Took days. So I guess if that counts then I've traveled a little?

The more I speak with people, the more I'm understanding that we're from different worlds... even different versions of our worlds. Which seems a wondrous thing, doesn't it? The idea that there are worlds that are... better.

Better than yours or mine, from the sound of it. What does undead mean? What caused the collapse of your world? I hope you don't mind my curiosity.

Okay, so just for the sake of curiosity, which Apocalypse did you live through?

Zombies. ...you do realize that an apocalypse, by definition, is the complete destruction of the world and therefore would heavily imply that two isn't possible, right...?

[ She looks too relaxed and happy for an apocalypse, he thinks; she must be being overdramatic. ]

Well, I mean, they were averted but it was hit or miss for a while! I mean what else would you call it when angels and demons use your city as their battlegrounds? Or when Lilith herself creates a monster army to overrun everything? I mean honestly I could even claim a third if you count the future apocalypse that was foretold and also averted...three's a good number for that. Much more impressive than two, don't you think?

Beacon Hills on Christianity Appreciation/Blasphemy Day? That sounds pretty awful, I'll give you that, I can't say I'd choose yours over mine, that's for sure. But wouldn't those two you mentioned sort of go hand in hand? I thought Lilith was a demon? I'm not particularly religious, so I could be completely off.

You would THINK they would but honestly like, it's just sort of how things worked out. The angel-demon war thing was because they were trying to beat each other to the Unholy Grail which had popped up. So that's what caused that. And Lilith well...Lilith created the Nightside and she wanted to take it back over like she hadn't been gone for centuries so. It's just a coincidence that they were both sort of...related I guess? But honestly not all of our disasters are religiously affiliated it just happens that the apocalypses were?

Oh, well, the last one wasn't so great, it's true. Very hit or miss...

I wasn't trying to compete though. I mean, zombies are nothing to sniff at either.

Yeah, they're not fun. But they're not maybe quite as apocalyptic as the Biblical stuff.

Depends on the flavor, I guess. Our undead are friendly enough. I mean, by comparison to all of the things I see in fiction...

Non-fiction, mostly, but I make exceptions now and again. Really like books on mythology. What about you? I'm assuming you also like to read if that's what you latched to to swipe right.

Nonfiction history, but also historical romances and the occasional contemporary YA.

I like history, too. Not as much as mythology, but it's definitely still up there in my things I enjoy reading. I don't do a lot of fictional works, personally. I'm making an exception for the Lord of the Rings trilogy right now, but...I wouldn't say I've drawn a hard line in the sand between fiction and non, or anything.

Nice to meet you Elena. I never check this thing...are you a new arrival or just new to deciding to start swiping on here?

I go back and forth between nonfiction and fiction depending on my mood and what I'm into. I've actually never read that trilogy. I've got a friend that loved the movies though.

New arrival. I've been here a little less than a day. I figured...if I'm going to stick around a little while, I ought to make friends.

You should give it a shot if you get some time on your hands and you're feeling like some good fantasy fiction. He's a little (a lot) wordy, but it's a really good series. The movies were pretty good too, but I've always preferred books to their movie adaptations, so I'm biased.
