Beacon Hills on Christianity Appreciation/Blasphemy Day? That sounds pretty awful, I'll give you that, I can't say I'd choose yours over mine, that's for sure. But wouldn't those two you mentioned sort of go hand in hand? I thought Lilith was a demon? I'm not particularly religious, so I could be completely off.

You would THINK they would but honestly like, it's just sort of how things worked out. The angel-demon war thing was because they were trying to beat each other to the Unholy Grail which had popped up. So that's what caused that. And Lilith well...Lilith created the Nightside and she wanted to take it back over like she hadn't been gone for centuries so. It's just a coincidence that they were both sort of...related I guess? But honestly not all of our disasters are religiously affiliated it just happens that the apocalypses were?

Oh, well, the last one wasn't so great, it's true. Very hit or miss...

I wasn't trying to compete though. I mean, zombies are nothing to sniff at either.

Yeah, they're not fun. But they're not maybe quite as apocalyptic as the Biblical stuff.

Depends on the flavor, I guess. Our undead are friendly enough. I mean, by comparison to all of the things I see in fiction...

What are yours like?

Not friendly, that's for sure. They "survive" by eating the flesh of living humans, so, needless to say, you wouldn't want to get too close.

Well, ours enjoy a bit of a nip too but there are restaurants and bars for them. Are they sentient still, or more of the mindless groaning sort?

Mindless groaning, you made actual establishments for yours, they're that with it?

Well yeah. One of my boss' friends is a guy named Dead Boy. He brings his ghoulfriend around with him to the dive bar John likes, if they're not at one of the ones that cater to the undead. Or maybe he's dating a ghost lately? Hard to remember...

Can't get a decent meal in those places for the living-challenged, let me tell you.

Yours sounds awful. Sorry you've had to deal with that.

Yeah, it was pretty awful. I'm here now, though, so that's the important thing, yeah.

And from the look of your profile you didn't come alone? That's good. So much the better to be out of the crap and to take someone you care with you out of it too.

Right, yeah, my girlfriend is here with me. I wouldn't have been able to stay if she hadn't. I couldn't have left her back there, even if they say it's only a couple of seconds you're away when you go back, I just couldn't do it to her. So yeah, pretty much exactly that, yeah, thanks.

Perfectly understandable. There are a few people back home who probably wouldn't have been able to leave me behind...

...but they're all big names and powers so I didn't feel guilty at all about leaving them behind. They don't need me to watch their backs for those three seconds or so.

Which means that this interest in getting to know one another is apparently one-sided.

That's cool. You can just say so and I'll go make friends with someone else. No harm, no foul.

Yeah, sorry, I don't really think we'd mesh. You seem kind of like I don't know, like you sort of relish that supernatural stuff and honestly I hated it. But it was nice to meet you, anyway.

I spent most of my life surrounded by normal, and they never accepted me. Made me feel like I was wrong and a freak, and constantly tried to change me.

So yeah, I relish the supernatural stuff because it's the city that took me in and the supernatural people who accepted me exactly as I am. I'm sorry you didn't have the same experience.

Our experiences just are on opposite sides of the spectrum.
