He looks a little confused for a moment when he notices Scott fishing around in his pocket, but when he pulls out a key, Derek huffs his amusement and reaches out to take it. ]

[ Derek heaves a long suffering sigh that the amusement still in his eyes gives away as put on. One of these days, Scott McCall is going to run himself into the ground worrying about other people and nearly never himself. Derek will never say that, though, because he's not really one to talk.
To Scott's counter, Derek smirks a little, his eyebrows lifted. They both know that more damage was done in Derek's loft during battle than McCall's house. Then again, for all Derek knows, that changes in the future and Scott knows more than he does like he knew more than Scott did before now. Time travel is really confusing... ]
Monroe? No...? The last thing from home that would maybe count as a significant enough milestone to be noteworthy was technically not home at all; it was down in Mexico, but that was a while ago. I was in South America visiting Cora for a while after Braeden and I broke up. Then here.
[mexico. meaning it's a lot more than just the anuk-ite and the wild hunt. he doesn't know about the dread doctors, the chimera. doesn't know that malia met her mother, or even that he came back to beacon hills when scott needed him the most.]

He's hoping he didn't miss much, but he's not going to hold his breath for that; God knows, missing a week can be critical back home, sometimes. ]

A small smile tugs up the corners of his mouth and Derek nods a little. ]
