I would think being in the prime of your hormonal years would make it that much more difficult, personally, because then you're trying to sift through actual attraction and just hormones being obnoxious.
You do realize that we're in a completely different place, right? Nobody here knows you so you don't have the high school social hierarchy to go up against. You can be confident if you want to and no one has to know that you aren't, if you're not.
Also, Scott has that like adorable puppy dog thing going for him. You just have to play up your strengths. As much as I'm sure I'll regret saying this for one reason or another, you're actually a pretty good looking dude and you're funny. Sometimes.
