I do what I can to make things easier for the people around me, what can I say?
[ That's not true, not even a little. ]
You on the other hand are going to be a bit more of a challenge. I'm curious to know what specifically you're looking for as far as your own journey? Like what do you want to get out of working out? I'm going to need to know that to know where to start on day one for you.
Self-defense. Okay, that's a separate animal, but we can absolutely do it. Just for the record...you don't necessarily need to be strong to defend yourself. You just have to know where your opponent will be weak.
But that gives me an idea where to start, too. So now I guess we just figure out when and where we're starting and who's teaching who first.
[ She can't help but read his first text again. "You just have to know where your opponent will be weak," she repeats, out loud for a moment, before smiling a bit to herself. She supposes he's right. ]
What if we start tomorrow? As for who should go first ...
Phones are a lot of fun. :)
[ Nope she's not trying to delay the inevitable at all. ]
We could both go? Bring your phone? And I'll bring my gym clothes.
Ohhhh shhhhhiiii. I need to go get those before we get together tomorrow. Well, not get together. Brain, you know what I mean.
Crunches? That's the only gym I know of, off the top of my head. There might be more but...that's the only one I know. Do you know where it is?
[ He realizes a second after sending that, that it might come across as kind of rude or condescending, but he honestly just wasn't sure she'd know since she'd said she'd been doing her exercises on her own, so he doesn't know if she's actually been to this gym or past it, or anything. ]
You'll have to show me how to do that. I knew it was a thing you could do, but I haven't figured out how to use it for directions, yet.
[ He really hasn't, but he's especially open-minded to looking, because it'd be a lot easier than just walking around until he gets sick of looking for a place. ]
[ She sends a few more text after that to confirm and time that's good for him. She doesn't know if he was one of the people who decided to apply for a job here or not. But once they're all set: ]

Oh you know. Just normal stuff. I wanna ... be healthy. Have actual arm strength. Be able to punch a guy if I need to.
In self defense I mean.
I don't go around punching guys.

[ He's looking forward to learning, don't get him wrong; he's just looking more forward to not having to leave his comfort zone. ]
Sound like a plan?

Where exactly, should we meet?
[ She can teach him how to use a phone anywhere. But as for gyms...she hasn't exactly been to one since arriving here. ]

But I can look it up.
[ She very probably has walked past it before, no question. She just hasn't paid attention to the fact that it was there. ]
One of the many benefits of technology. :D

handwave the logistics and we move to log?

Okay. I'll see you then.
works for me!
Don't hype it up too much; you're liable to accidentally disappoint with it haha
Looking forward to it.
